I have pledged 3 to 5 Chutney Recipes, this is my Fourth. The other Recipes had some relevance to Ayurveda or Naturopathy but this one is a Most liked Chutney by Mumbai. so let me post a Fun Recipe which is Mouthwatering !!

The Chutney day is inspiring me to make and invent Chutneys that I have not made before but this is one chutney that is been there since decades.. when Mumbai used to be Bombay.

This is used in the famous BOMBAY SANDWICH. The most loved by all a sandwich sold by the vendors on the streets of Mumbai which is as popular as the famous Vada Pav & Bhelpuri !!!

Exclusively vegetarian, this sandwich uses of chutney which adds flavour to this amazing snack.. each one has their own style of making this chutney but basically, it mainly uses coriander as the main ingredient…so it’s usually referred to as the Green Chutney.

Most of the sandwich wala’s add their own twist to the sandwiches be it in the form of chutneys or masala.

Let me share with you my version of this famous Bombay sandwich chutney in which I add a Capsicum or a green pepper and Peanuts to give it the ROADSIDE touch or as we say The Rasta Taste.

Ingredients for Bombay Sandwich Chutney

 

 

  1. 2 cups coriander leaves with the stem( the thin ones)
  2. Half cup roasted peanuts powdered
  3. 4/5 green chillies ( less or more as preferred)
  4. 1 Capsicum or green pepper chopped
  5. 3/5 cloves of garlic
  6. A piece of Ginger
  7. Juice of one lemon
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Half cup water

Method for Bombay Sandwich Chutney

Mix all the ingredients in a mixer jar

Blend everything well together until it makes a thick paste

Add a little more water if you like it thinner.

 

The Flavour full GREEN Bombay sandwich chutney is ready. You can even use it as a great condiment for your snacks.

One of my favourite chutneys which I use regularly in between 2 slices of buttered Bread or Toast. It tastes. SIMPLY YUMMMM !!!!!!

Try Grinding it on a Grounding Stone or A MASALA Vatvano Patthar, its so much more Flavourful, Delicious & FUN.
